BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical Atlantic city Theatre reviews
could have been a lot better
In 1983 and 1985, I attended performances of BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical, which were two of the most memorable concerts I've ever experienced. The concert I witnessed recently did not live up to the standard set by those previous shows. The set list was dominated by newer songs that did not compare to the classics from their first 4 albums. Additionally, the show was marred by excessive stage gimmicks and distracting commentary from Bono. Despite these flaws, The Edge's exceptional guitar skills were on full display, creating a mesmerizing wall of sound. While BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical is undeniably talented, this particular concert fell short of its potential.
The most disappointing aspect was the seating situation. Despite paying over $100 for upper deck seats, we were forced to stand throughout the entire concert in order to see the stage. This was a first for me at the Garden, where I have been attending concerts since 1978. The ushers failed to address the issue of inconsiderate attendees in the lower section of the upper deck who refused to sit, obstructing the view for others.
